Ngā Miro Mate Huka Programme
If you or your whaanau have a history of diabetes or have prediabetes, or simply want to improve your health and wellbeing, this is the kaupapa for you!

The Mate Huka programme is a 12-week initiative to support whaanau in preventing and managing diabetes. Whether you have pre-diabetes or are at risk of developing diabetes, the team are there to help you make lifestyle changes that improve your health and wellbeing.
Through kanohi-te-kanohi (face-to-face sessions), they offer:

Group exercise sessions led by a personal trainer

Nutrition education

One-on-one mentoring

He pukapuka hauora/wellness book

Access to their Facebook group – Ongoing support and encouragement

Regular diabetes screenings & advice – Provided by Ngā Miro Health nurses
