Terri-Lee shares her Paapaa's journey

Through caring for her Paapaa, Terry, Terri-Lee gained a profound understanding of diabetes through lived experience. Hers is a story of the lessons she learned.

Terri-Lee is a mother of five beautiful taamariki, Her identity is deeply grounded in her culture, her connection to her tuupuna, a source of strength and guidance. Her warmth and friendly nature radiate outwards, touching all who cross her path.

Terri-Lee's Paapaa's journey with diabetes was not easy; it included the challenges of dialysis and the unpredictable nature of hypoglycemic episodes (when you have very low blood sugar). However, despite these challenges, she cared for him for 10 years. He, in turn, offered invaluable support, helping Terri-Lee nurture and raise her taamariki.
